If you are calling from outside the U.S. or Canada, you may reach U.S. Reservations by using the following procedures. (The call will not be toll free.)
~ Access the Web site www.usa.att.com/traveler. The site lists eligible countries and phone numbers.
~ Dial the AT&T access number provided on the Web site (it is different for each country).
~ An AT&T Operator or English language voice prompt will ask for the telephone number you are calling. Dial 800-433-7300 for all American Airlines departments (except AAdvantage) or dial 800-882-8880 for the AAdvantage department.
~ After the tone, enter your regular AT&T Calling Card number (not the international number). You may also use the AT&T Corporate Calling card and many other U.S. local phone company cards. MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover/Novus or Diners Club cards can be used from many countries to place calls back to the U.S.
~ For assistance, press zero or stay on the line for an AT&T Operator.

Changes To Checked Bag Charges: Between Mexico and the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Europe and India: View new checked bag charges for customers who purchase Economy Class tickets on or after May 3, 2010.

Between Canada and the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands: View new checked bag charges for customers who purchase Economy Class tickets on or after March 29, 2010.

Within And Between the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands: View new checked bag charges for customers who purchase Economy Class tickets on or after February 1, 2010.

The U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to, from, or via Europe and India: View new checked bag charges for customers who purchase Economy Class tickets on or after September 14, 2009.

The following applies to travel within the United States unless otherwise stated. Please check the country-specific chart below for exceptions to the U.S policies. Our Reservations agents can assist with policies or information not covered below.

How Much Can I Carry On?
You can carry on one bag plus one personal item per passenger as long as:
~ They weigh no more than 40 lbs/18 kgs
~ The carry-on bag must fit in the sizer and not exceed overall dimensions of 45 inches (length + width + height). The maximum combined linear measurement of the carry-on bag cannot exceed any of the following measurements: 22″ long x 14″ wide x 9″ tall or 114cm (56 x 35 x 23 cm). All carry-on items must fit under the seat or in an overhead bin.

Personal item – includes: small backpack purse, briefcase, laptop bag OR a similar item such as book bag or tote that does not exceed 36 inches( length+width+height) and must fit under the seat.

American Airlines Online Check-In, Web Check-In

American Airlines Tickets and Reservations, Check in Online: American Airlines offers check-in online, and a few of the particulars of their web check-in services. American Airlines Online check-in is available up to 24 hours prior to departure. You need to provide reservation number or AAdvantage number and an AA.com password for web check-in. You can also check in for connecting flights, even with another airline, as long as American Airlines has an e-ticketing agreement with them.

Passengers can also drop off checked luggage at Curb-side Check-in, Self Service Check-in, or with an agent.

American Airlines Online Reservation Changes

American Airlines now offers you the flexibility to change certain domestic reservations online anytime you want. Simply click the “View/Change Reservations” tab on the official website homepage (you may be prompted to login) and then enter your record locator in the ‘Find Reservations’ box.

If your ticket can be changed online, choose from the alternate flight options offered. A summary will show your new fare and any applicable change fees – helping you determine the choice that’s right for you.

If your ticket is not eligible for change online you will see a message stating the reason and you may Contact AA Reservations to make your change instead.
